Overview
Physical Education is a class that focuses on your ability to learn how to use your body. Through this course you will learn various sports, their rules, how to referee games and how to keep statistics for a sport. Each area of a sport is used to enhance your understanding of the sport but also to make you a better player and to have a fun time doing it
Course work and Grading
This course is a participatory course. To prove that you know how to do what you have learned you will need to show the skill or the knowledge through use.
It is important to know that under Attendance your grade will be calculated at the end of each quarter then entered as follows: 1 Absence – excused or unexcused – equals 1% point, 3 Tardies – excused or unexcused – equals 1%.
Change Out
You are required to bring gym clothing and footwear. If you come to class you missing either of these you will be asked to sit out for the duration of the class. You will have 5 minutes after class officially starts to get changed and to class. Beyond that you will be tardy.
Clothing that is appropriate to wear for gym class is:
Men: Shorts, athletic pants, t-shirt, socks and shoes. (cleats are okay for soccer and flag football)
Ladies: Shorts, athletic pants, t-shirt, socks and shoes. (cleats are okay for soccer and flag football)
*Note: no extremely loose fitting or tight fitting clothes are appropriate for either gender.
